This year's Raodshow took place on the occasion of the dress rehearsal of the ballet "The Trial". The Trial is a new full-evening ballet inspired by Franz Kafka’s classic novel, Der Prozess, that draws you into a twisted bureaucratic maze. The story takes place in a city reminiscent of Prague, with magical alleys and art-nouveau inspired buildings – a place in which you can get lost.

For this event, the Royal Swedish Opera invited book circles, authors, young dance enthusiasts as well as students of literature, finance and political science to take part in an evening full of music, conversations and dance.

Before the show, the audience was invited to an evening in the spirit of Kafka, where the Finnish screaming men’s choir Huutajat performed. The Polish/Czech choreographer behind the ballet, Jiří Bubeníček, talked about how he made a ballet from a book and the creative process behind his creation.

On 26 June 2023 the Artistic Director of the Staatsoper Unter den Linden had the opportunity of presenting, within the General Assembly of the Freunde und Förderer der Staatsoper Unter den Linden (Friends & Supporters), its newest initiative for a more sustainable opera house: Sustainable Listening.
